There are some things that are just plain difficult to do for those of us with small hands. I started playing the piano when I was a little kid, and I learned the hard way that there were some chords that were just out of my reach.
Fast forward about a decade and I found myself faced with a similar problem: the controller for the Xbox 360 is a lot bigger than the NES I played growing up. The joysticks felt like they were just too tall for my thumbs, which made the controller awkward and uncomfortable to hold.
All these years, I knew I couldn't be the only person with this issue, and YouTube user JoshuaQuail not only confirmed my suspicion, he solved the problem.
Using a Dremel tool and some super glue, he shortened and angled his controller's joysticks to make them more accessible to small hands.
The process is actually a lot simpler than you'd think. After removing the joysticks from the controller, Joshua separated them with his Dremel tool and flipped them 180 degrees to angle them downwards so that they were easier to reach.
He sanded the edges to make them smooth, then super-glued the joysticks back together and popped them back onto the controller. Sounds easy enough, right?
Check out the video above to see him go through the process step by step. If you're unsure of where to start, check out this tutorial on how to take apart your controller.
